Operations, maps, areas and checkpoints

An operation groups the activities, locations and forms your team will execute. You can use map-based locations or free forms.

  • Area: a polygon. The form can be released only when the person is inside the area.
  • Checkpoint: a point on the map. The form can be released when the person is near the point.
  • Free form: a form without GPS release, useful when location proof is not required.

For best results, use clear location names and checklist names. These names appear later in Feed, Results and exports.

Forms and checklists

In Ecofyx, forms and checklists work together: a checklist is a structured set of questions your team answers in the field.

  • Use short text, long text, numeric fields, options, dates, photos, files and observation fields.
  • Use AI to create a first version from a simple description, procedure, PDF or paper form.
  • Avoid hard-deleting questions that already have responses. Prefer archiving or versioning to preserve historical evidence.

Field execution and GPS release

The executor can access activities while logged in or through a shared execution link, depending on how the operation was configured.

  • If GPS release is required, the device must allow location access.
  • If the form stays locked, wait a few seconds for GPS accuracy to improve and confirm the person is inside the area or near the checkpoint.
  • Photos and answers become evidence for managers, audits and operational analysis.

Feed and alerts

The Feed shows field activity in a timeline with context, answers, evidence, responsible person, time and location information when available.

  • Use Feed to monitor the operation without relying on scattered messages.
  • Use alert rules to highlight answers or conditions that require management attention.
  • Feed permissions can restrict what each user or team member can see.

Results and exports

The Results page organizes responses in tables with filters and export options.

  • Filter by operation, location, checklist, executor, status and period.
  • Export CSV/XLSX files for analysis, BI or evidence packages.
  • Use map/KMZ exports when location evidence is important.
